Laser Hair Removal Blog

Updated: Jan 17

All of our treatments are absolutely amazing but there's one that will change your life especially.

Laser hair removal.

Can you imagine not having to worry about unwanted body hair ever again? We got you!

Laser hair removal is a noninvasive cosmetic procedure that uses concentrated beams of light (lasers) to target and destroy hair follicles, reducing or eliminating hair growth over time.

✨ How It Works:

The laser emits light that’s absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair.

This light energy is converted to heat, which damages the hair follicle.

Damaged follicles can’t grow new hair—or grow it much more slowly and sparsely.

✅ Common Treatment Areas:

XS areas- upper lip, chin, sideburns, toes, fingers, nipples

Small areas- bikini line, underarms, neck, feet (with toes), hands (with fingers), stomach, low back, inner thighs

Medium areas- Brazilian, full arms, half legs, full face

Large areas- Legs, chest, back

💡 Key Benefits:

Long-term hair reduction (after a series of treatments)

Precision targeting without damaging surrounding skin

Speed – small areas like the upper lip take minutes; larger areas like legs take under an hour

Fewer ingrown hairs compared to waxing or shaving

Works on ALL hair and skin colors

⚠️ Things to Know:

Most people need around 10 sessions, spaced 4–10 weeks apart.

This schedule aligns with your hair’s natural growth cycle. Laser hair removal is most effective during the anagen (active growth) phase, but not all hairs are in that phase at the same time. That’s why multiple sessions are needed—to catch each follicle when it’s most vulnerable to the laser’s energy.

Temporary redness, swelling, or mild discomfort is common post-treatment.

Sun exposure should be avoided 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after sessions.

🗓️ Why the spacing matters:

Face & underarms: Usually every 4–8 weeks

Legs, back, bikini: Every 5–10 weeks

Hormonal areas (like chin or jawline): May need more frequent or additional sessions

🔄 Maintenance treatments

After your initial series, you may need touch-ups every 3-6 months to maintain results, especially if hormones or genetics cause regrowth.

🎯 Why this plan works:

Targets hair in its most responsive stage

Reduces regrowth with each session

Allows skin to recover between treatments

Minimizes risk of side effects

What does it feel like?

With your machine’s built-in cooling mechanism, laser hair removal can feel surprisingly comfortable and virtually painless—a game-changer for clients who may be nervous about discomfort.

Here’s what the experience is typically like with cooling technology:

❄️ Cool & Soothing Sensation – The cooling system (like sapphire contact cooling or chilled air) keeps the skin’s surface at a low temperature before, during, and after each laser pulse. This helps numb the skin slightly, reducing any heat-related discomfort.

⚡ Mild Snap or Tingle – Some clients describe the laser pulse as a quick snap, like a rubber band flick, but with the cooling in place, it’s often more of a light tapping or tingling feeling.

😌 No Burning or Stinging – Unlike older machines or those without cooling, your device helps prevent that hot, stingy sensation. Most clients feel relief and ease, even in more sensitive areas.

🧊 Consistent Comfort – Because the cooling is continuous, it helps minimize redness, swelling, and irritation, making the treatment feel more like a chill breeze than a zap.

In fact, many modern systems with integrated cooling allow for higher energy settings (for better results) without increasing discomfort. It’s a win-win: more effective treatments with a much more pleasant experience.

Who It’s Good For:

People with light to medium skin and dark hair typically have best resulets –  This combo allows the laser to easily target the pigment in the hair follicle. Our machine works on all hair and skin colors, lighter hair may just be a little more stubborn.

✅Those tired of shaving, waxing, or tweezing – Especially if you deal with razor burn or ingrown hairs.

✅Anyone seeking long-term hair reduction – Great for legs, underarms, bikini line, face (except around the eyes), back, and chest.

✅People with conditions like folliculitis – It can reduce inflammation caused by shaving or waxing.

Who It’s Not Ideal For (or Should Proceed with Caution):

People with very light, gray or white hair – The laser may not detect enough pigment to be effective.

❌Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals – Hormones will cause hair growth, we recommend waiting at least 6 weeks after you had the baby, and are finished breastfeeding for best results.

❌People with active skin infections, open wounds, or recent sunburns – These should heal first.

❌Anyone with tattoos in the treatment area – Lasers can NOT go over inked skin.

Certain medical conditions – Like PCOS or hormonal imbalances, may require more sessions.

Pre-Treatment Care (What to Do Before Your Appointment)

2–4 Weeks Before:

❌ Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners. Tanned skin increases the risk of burns and pigmentation changes.

❌ Stop waxing, plucking, threading, or using depilatory creams—these remove the hair follicle, which the laser needs to target.

✅ Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily on exposed areas.

3–7 Days Before:

❌ Discontinue retinoids, exfoliants, and acids (like glycolic, salicylic, or vitamin C) on the treatment area.

❌ Avoid chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or harsh facials.

24–48 Hours Before:

✅ Shave the treatment area—this allows the laser to reach the follicle without burning surface hair.

❌ Do not apply lotions, oils, deodorant, or makeup on the treatment area.

✅ Stay well-hydrated and avoid alcohol or anything that may irritate your skin.

Post-Treatment Care (What to Do After Your Appointment)

Immediately After (First 24–48 Hours):

✅ Apply cool compresses or aloe vera to soothe redness or swelling.

❌ Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, or workouts—heat can irritate the skin.

❌ Don’t use makeup, deodorant, or scented products on the treated area.

✅ Wear loose, breathable clothing to avoid friction.

Next Few Days:

✅ Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and moisturizer.

❌ Avoid scratching, picking, or exfoliating the area until it’s fully healed.

✅ Continue to avoid sun exposure and apply SPF 30+ daily.

1–2 Weeks After:

✅ Expect some hair to shed naturally—this is normal and part of the process.

✅ You can gently exfoliate after a few days to help with shedding (if no irritation is present).

❌ Still avoid waxing or plucking between sessions—shaving is fine.

Following these steps helps reduce side effects, prevent complications, and maximize your results.
