I can’t begin to tell you how important self-care is. In a fast paced world, we are always on the go, and putting our self-care aside, thinking it is a luxury and not needed. But in reality, we NEED to make sure we slow down, and take care of our mind and body.
Self-care is a vital anchor that keeps us grounded amidst life's demands. It gives us permission to slow down, recharge, and reconnect with ourselves. By making self-care a priority, we replenish our energy reserves, restore balance, and prevent burnout.
Incorporating self-care practices into your daily life is essential for nurturing your well-being and finding balance in a busy world. By prioritizing rest, engaging in physical activity, practicing mindfulness, pursuing hobbies, setting boundaries, connecting with loved ones, and taking regular breaks, you can enhance your physical, mental, and emotional health. One of the best self-care and relaxation techniques you can have in your back pocket is breath work. This technique can help you anytime and anywhere.
Box breathing is a simple, yet powerful breathing technique that helps calm the mind, regulate the nervous system, and reduce stress.
Why It's So Helpful:
Reduces Stress & Anxiety – Slows down breathing, signaling relaxation to the brain. Enhances Focus & Clarity – Clears mental fog and sharpens concentration.
Regulates the Nervous System – Balances heart rate and lowers cortisol levels.
Improves Emotional Control – Helps manage reactions to stress and enhances resilience.
It’s used by athletes, military personnel, and wellness practitioners to promote calm, control, and presence.

Start at the bottom left of the square. Trace your finger up the side, while you take a deep breath in. Hold your breath for four seconds as you trace the second side. Breathe out as you slide down the other side. Hold your breath for four seconds, as you trace the bottom of the square.
Repeat for 3-5 minutes or until you feel more calm.
